China Glaze text in Colour 2BHOT: Holographic Hotness

have you seen China Glaze’s OMG text in Colour nail polish collection yet? OMG, these colors are GR8, QT!

The full collection first landed back in February, and I’ve been indicating to talk about it for a while. China Glaze released the collection as two sets, 2BHOT and 2BKEWL, with six colors each. 2BHOT carried the warmer shades; 2BKEWL the cooler ones. To describe the colors, China Glaze used a term I hadn’t heard used to describe makeup before: holographic. and it’s not just marketing nonsense, either. The polishes consist of the tiniest little flecks of multi-colored glitter, and they do seem to change color (silver to green to red, for example) depending on the angle you look at them from.

I finally got around to swatching and photographing the six 2BHOT colors yesterday. Unfortunately, considering that their release the colors have become pretty hard to find, but you can still purchase all of them individually from Amazon for $4.20 (shipping extra) each.

The 2BHOT shades…

QT (Cutie) – holographic magenta-purple

TMI (Too much information) – holographic rose red

TTYL (Talk to you later) – holographic peachy-pink

FYI (For your information) – holographic beige with silver, blue and green

GR8 (Great) – holographic yellow

L8R G8R (Later gator) – holographic light green

The 2BHOT colors are a bit flashier/more club kid than my normal pink, peach, and coral nail color choices, but I really like them. The funky way the colors seem to change in the light adds another dimension to these polishes that makes them a lot of fun. It’s odd — I never wear green nail polish, but, surprisingly, 2BHOT’s green (L8R G8R), is my favorite 2BHOT shade of the bunch.

The consistency of China Glaze reminds me of Shu Uemura and Laura Mercier nail polishes. It dries fast and applies thin. Befitting the name, the formula consists of actual China clay as a hardener.

For the record, these polishes are toluene- and formaldehyde-free, and the individual bottles list for about $6.50 through retail channels nationwide (when you can find them).

To find a China Glaze merchant near you, check out their web site and shoot them an email. They can’t be out of stock everywhere.

Random makeup and appeal blog fun Fact: I have a odd obsession with fine china. I don’t currently own any, but that hasn’t stopped me from spending hours checking out patterns. My favorite ideal now is Pompano Point, by Kate Spade.

So do you like the colors from the China Glaze text in Colour collection? China Glaze certainly didn’t rest on their laurels after text in Colour. INK, their newest collection, goes all out with bright neon shades and tattoo-inspired nail decals.

Last night I had to skip dance class because I brought some work home with me, pooh. but after dinner I did manage to treat myself to an hour of mind-numbing “reality” television by way of The Hills and The Paper. I’ve never belonged to team AUDRINA before, but I felt bad for her in last night’s episode.

First, she endured Lo’s disrespectful text messaging…

And then Lo and Lauren shut her out of the puppy adoption process!

Hang in there, Audrina! everybody hurts … sometimes!

What kind of day did you have? I hope you weren’t as busy as I was.
